The PDIU is responsible for developing regional and national project proposals and implementing those projects which are selected for funding.

The PDIU is also responsible for representing IOM in various expert networks and at thematic events. It is also in charge of media relations and liaison with a wide range of stakeholders.

Finally, the PDIU is responsible for the coordination of IOM Budapest’s internship programme.

The work of PDIU is supported by the Movement Operations Department and by the Admin, Finance and Human Resources Department.

The Department is responsible for the planning and implementation of travels within the framework of IOM’s Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration Programmes from, to and through Hungary.

The Department also assists Hungarian nationals who are identified abroad as victims of human trafficking and who wish to return to Hungary.

The Operations Department offers travel assistance to Hungarian nationals who acquire settlement permits to Australia, Canada and New-Zealand and wish to move to these countries. This service is provided on a self-payer basis.

The Department is responsible for the administrative, financial and HR management of IOM Budapest. Key tasks of the Department include ensuring compliance with IOM’s administrative and financial procedures, monitoring project expenditures, preparing for project audits and supporting HR processes.
