Workshop on Labour Migration into, within, and out of the Balkan Region (IOM-MARRI)

Summary: This project gathered government officials with responsibility for migration issues from the Western Balkans, MARRI (Migration, Asylum and Refugees Regional Initiative), the UK and IOM experts to discuss issues of labour migration from and within the region and contribute to improving of participating governments’ capacity in introducing and developing effective labour migration systems. Those in turn contributed to combating irregular migration from the region to third countries and while also avoiding brain drain tendencies in the region. Recommendations for a regional strategy and plan of action on labor migration within/from the Western Balkans were jointly elaborated.
