Internships at IOM Budapest

IOM offers internship opportunities from two to six months, renewable upon agreement of both the supervisor and the intern, up to a maximum of nine months. The IOM Internship Programme targets young, talented undergraduate and graduate students, willing to gain practical experience in a field relevant to the Organization through their full involvement in daily working activities in migration related areas and/or in public international administration and finance. IOM provides on-the-job training to interns so that both they and the Organization can benefit. Interns are granted a stipend referred to as a Monthly Subsistence Allowance (MSA) as partial contribution towards accommodation and living expenses. In addition to this, IOM evaluates interns who may eventually be included on the roster for future external vacancies.

The Internship Programme also targets academic institutions and universities operating in areas relevant to IOM activities and programmes, thus strengthening the cooperation with active migration policy makers and keeping abreast of the most recent debates, concepts, theories, and tools developed on migration-related issues.
