Addressing Forced Migration

IOM’s work in the area of addressing forced migration is aimed at alleviating the negative consequences of unwanted movements by offering services and advice in the following areas: resettlement, internally displaced people, natural disaster, transition and rebuilding, veterans, claims and compensation and election and referendum.

IOM in Hungary focuses its work on resettlement.

• Promotion of resettlement in the European Union through practical cooperation by EU Member States (2010 - 2011)
• Activity Management for the Migration Operations Center in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba (2007 - 2008)
