IOM Budapest takes part in Global Migration Film Festival 2017

IOM Budapest and the International Diplomatic Student Association co-organize, in partnership with the United Nations Information Service (UNIS) Vienna, the screening of the movie “Lost in Lebanon”, as part of the Global Migration Film Festival.

About the movie “Lost in Lebanon”: “Lost in Lebanon” gains access to unknown stories in a region that is on the fringes of hell. Spending over a year in Lebanon - in Beirut and on the borders of Syria, this film tells the story behind the news reports and reflects the lives of people living in the shadow of the Syrian war.

The screening will be followed by a short panel discussion. Panelists will be confirmed soon.

The event will take place on 8 December 2017 from 5.20 PM to 8 PM at Room E.330 of the Corvinus University of Budapest (8 Fővám tér, Budapest, H-1093). To find out more check out our Facebook event.

About the Film Festival:

The IOM - UN Migration Agency launched the Global Migration Film Festival in 2016. This Festival features films and documentaries that capture the promise and challenges of migration for those who leave their homes in search of a better life and the unique contributions migrants make to their new communities. It paves the way for greater discussion around one of the greatest phenomenon of our time. The Global Migration Film Festival is a partner of Plural+ and the UN campaign, TOGETHER, which aim to change negative perceptions and attitudes towards refugees and migrants.

Last year, the film festival took place in 89 countries.
This year we anticipate over 100, including Hungary!
