National Counter-Trafficking Pilot Project (2006 - 2007)
Geographical Coverage: Hungary
Duration: December 2006 - April 2007
Donor: Hungarian Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour
Status: Completed
Summary: This project aimed to carry out capacity building activities and awareness raising interventions amongst the two target groups (Child, youth and family care, education and health experts- Vulnerable groups at risk of being trafficked) in order to understand and respond appropriately to human trafficking issues in the Hungarian context. This was accomplished through a three component project including seminars throughout the country in four locations outside of Budapest, an information and awareness raising campaign in order to sensitize groups at risk and the general public of the dangers of human trafficking and foreign job opportunities. The third component was a two day train the trainer workshop for selected experts from the four locations and from Budapest.
