Summary: The project aims to contribute towards the enhancement of the quality of guardianship and overall care of unaccompanied minors asylum seekers (UAMAS) in the targeted countries in line with the EU Action Plan on Unaccompanied Minors, the EU directives and the Convention on the Rights of the Child. It seeks to monitor and improve the quality of guardianship and care in order to ensure that the best interests of the child are represented and adequate care and support are provided to the child, facilitating in this way his/her integration into the host society. Not least, the project will address the lack of established practices in the participating countries to offer high standards of protection and assistance to UAMAS. This will be achieved through the implementation of the following activities: 1) Review/assessment on UAMAS’s guardianship/caregiver practices conducted in the participating Member States and a Synthesis Report of the findings drafted; 2) UAMAS’s Guardians and Care Givers Training Manual developed, based on the findings of the Synthesis Report, which can be used by stakeholders directly working with UAMAS; 3) Training of Trainers organised for partner NGOs and experienced representatives from each country on how to carry out the Guardians’ and Care Givers’ trainings; 4) Trainings carried out for an estimated number of 140 UAMAS guardians, counsellors and social workers  in the seven target countries, based on the aforementioned manual; 5) International two-day conference organised to discuss the results of the review, share the training methodology, and propose practical measures towards the improvement of the quality of UAMAS’s guardianship and care in the region and EU MS in general; 6) An ex-post evaluation conducted to assess the effectiveness of the trainings.
