The Food Bank Aid Foundation has moved to a new location!
The Food Bank Aid Foundation has now moved to a new location! Wesselényi u. 12, Budapest 1075. Volunteers continue to help prepare and pack bags for 100 families every Wednesday for distribution. On Thursdays we distribute the bags to the Ukrainian recipients. However, with the new location, Food Bank has more flexibility to offer additional services. The organization is now providing a Café on Tuesdays to ALL Ukrainian refugees (creche available during this time) - not only the recipients that are included in the food bank programme. This gives refugees the opportunity to gather important information and share knowledge, but more importantly, to relax over light refreshments and develop their temporary community. The Café is open 14:00-17:00.
In other news, the Food Bank Aid Foundation organized a summer camp for 30 Ukrainian children in August. This was an English Language day camp in partnership with the Scottish Mission Church. The goal of the camp was for the children to integrate and to learn the English language, build confidence in a foreign country, and most of all, to have a fun and relaxing time.
Food Bank Aid Foundation activities are funded by the Government of Japan and the U.S. Department of State: Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM).
