Last round of capacity building trainings as part of IOM's regional child protection project
IOM Budapest, in cooperation with the Office of Immigration and Asylum (OIA), the Cordelia Foundation for the Rehabilitation of Torture Victims and UNHCR, organized the last round of capacity building trainings for OIA professionals in Szeged on 28 March and in Budapest on 4 April. The trainings included many interactive group exercises. During the 6-hour training days various topics were discussed from children’s rights, intercultural questions and to identification of trauma. The recently published ”Guidelines to protect migrant children in Hungary” was also presented to the participants.
As IOM’s regional child protection project comes to an end on 14 April 2018. Overall, 6 trainings for OIA professionals, 2 trainings for the Police and 1 training for child protection professionals have been organized since June 2017. We would like to thank to the OIA, the Police, the Directorate-General for Social Affairs and Child Protection, the Károlyi István Children Centre, the colleagues from Cordelia Foundation and UNHCR for their cooperation, support and contribution to the success of these capacity building trainings.
