Non-food items to migrants and refugees
Hungary - On 19 September 2016 IOM Budapest began distributing non-food items as part of the “Migration crisis in Europe – Support to stranded migrants in Greece and Hungary” project funded by SlovakAid. In the upcoming weeks we will continue to visit various facilities hosting migrants throughout Hungary which are in need of items such as clothes, footwear, hygiene kits, blankets, sleeping bags, towels, cleaning supply, recreational items or phone cards. Our aim is to improve the conditions within state-run migration facilities and to contribute to the assistance and protection of stranded migrants and refugees by strengthening the capacities of national authorities.
